Loch Scavaig - Isle of Skye

Our core philsophy rests on
four cornerstones. They are:
Sailing can be quite taxing, but our aim is always to enjoy ourselves.
Chloe's trips are, after all, holidays, from which you should return
with a sense of achievement, yet refreshed ... and want to come again!
By adventurous we mean that we aim to travel to some of the more
beautiful and less frequented places and be as self reliant as possible
. Quiet anchorages, coves and bays are preferred to busy marinas.
Chloe's choice of location, away from the crowded waters of the South
East and South West coasts also reflect this philosophy. All of our
longer
trips will appeal most to those with an ‘adventurous' spirit. In
practice that means those individuals who are willing to accept, if
necessary, the vagaries of the elements, and who are willing to forego
the trappings of civilisation (for brief periods of time at least!).
Adventure does not mean lack of safety. Chloe is fully 'coded', ie she
conforms strictly to legal safety requirements. She is a solid, tough
and stable boat, fully equipped for safety at sea. All of our skippers
are experienced and conscientious and will look after Chloe and her crew
And finally, the attribute that puts Chloe head and shoulders above the
rest...
Very few ships with Chloe’s characteristics remain. We are proud of
Chloe’s heritage and believe that sailing a traditional wooden vessel
rekindles the spirit of the past in a way rarely achieved in more
modern vessels. Sailing a 'plastic' boat will never be the same again -
Long live gaffers!
